Goodnight Moon
There’s no question that Goodnight Moon is Nate’s favorite book (with Hug running a very close second), but the more I read it, the more bizarre it seems. Why does a bunny have kittens? Or, for that matter, a tiger skin rug?

Recently, a friend of mine sent me an article about explaining to your child “why does mommy have to work?” Coincidentally, I had just been talking to my husband about just the opposite: how to ensure that my son knows that staying home was a choice, not a gender role.
It’s important to me that Nate knows that I had a successful career and that being a stay-at-home mommy was a choice made because we thought it was best for him, because I wanted to - and because we are lucky enough that I can stay home.
